Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

I began watching Live with Regis and Kelly when she joined as co-host some 22 years ago. I was a big All My Children fan, and Kelly Ripa and I happened to be pregnant at the same time. Since then she’s been through two other co-hosts: Michael Strahan and Ryan Seacrest, but my favorite episodes were the ones in which her husband and fellow All My Children star, Mark Consuelos, filled in with her. They just have so much chemistry — for obvious reasons — and their natural charisma, sense of humor, and willingness to get personal and tease one another always made for a fun, zingy watch. In fact, since Regis retired, I’ve been complaining that Consuelos should be his replacement. So needless to say, I’m thrilled at the news that when Ryan Seacrest leaves Live with Kelly and Ryan this spring, Mark Consuelos will finally — FINALLY — join the host desk with his wife. I mean, just watch some of these clips and tell me this isn’t good television.

LOL, FOX NEWS IS IN TROUBLE.

Speaking of being in trouble, Don Lemon might be wanting to update his resume. First of all, CNN This Morning, which Lemon co-anchors, is CNN’s lowest-rated morning show in over a decade. And that’s not Lemon’s fault, not entirely. But then for this asshole to go on the air yesterday and say that Republican Presidential candidate Nikki Haley — who is 51 — “isn’t in her prime” anymore …

Well, that’s not going to help matters any.

After Lemon said this, co-host Poppy Harlow stormed off set followed by Kaitlan Collins who has reportedly had her own issues with Lemon.

Lemon was quick with a Twitter apology a couple of hours later:

He also joined a CNN staff call this morning to apologize but some found it “tone deaf.” On the same call, CNN head Chris Licht called the comments “upsetting, unacceptable, and unfair.”

Lemon was absent from this morning’s episode — though they are claiming that it was a “scheduled” day off. (O.K.) Chris Licht is reportedly under pressure from female staffers to fire him, and considering how disastrously CNN This Morning is doing in the ratings, he might be just the sacrifice to the TV Gods CNN is looking for. Stay tuned.

HOLD UP, IS THE WHITE LOTUS GOING TO BE IN JAPAN NEXT SEASON? Or is Johnny Knoxville just punking us?

So this is an interesting rabbit hole to go down: The White Lotus theme song is for sure “a bop” as the kids would say. But did you know that one of the reasons you like it so much is that you’ve been hearing it your entire life? Those four notes you can probably hum in your head right now, they come from a 12th-century Gregorian chant called “Dies Irae.” And The White Lotus is far from the only score to make use of the ominous tones, which have been employed for years to signify death, dread, horror, and suspense.

Here’s the original chant:

And here are some examples of it in other scores:

Now listen to The White Lotus theme again:

The Great British Baking Show producer knows y’all didn’t like the last season. Maybe leave the sombreros at home next time?

The new Fawlty Towers will be set in the Caribbean, and John Cleese is saying it won’t be an “anti-woke” nightmare. So it will be a “woke nightmare?” I’m very confused by this story. He also says he won’t be doing as much physical comedy in the new series, which I SHOULD HOPE SO, the man is 83 years old.

Roseanne Barr is out here claiming that ABC wanted her to commit suicide after she tweeted something racist and they fired her. Sure, Roseanne. Sounds legit.

Starz and MGM+ are being offered as a bundle on Prime Video for $11.99 a month. Does this make Amazon a likely buyer of Starz in the future? Maybe!

Pilot season is light this year. Typically, networks are looking at 10 to 20 pilots each — this year, only 13 pilots are being considered across all four big networks. There are a number of reasons for this: the number of streaming services and cable networks out there; the fact that networks are playing it safe with what they are already airing; and a looming writers’ strike.

A nudity-free True Blood and a profanity-free Silicon Valley are headed to TBS for some reason.

Penn Badgley revealed that he signed a six-season contract for You, meaning there could be two more seasons after this current fourth one. But should there be? How many times can we see Joe in the same obsess, stalk, murder pattern?

Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches have given a boost to AMC, right when they needed it.

GOOD NEWS, DRAG RACE FANS: The producers and MTV heard you and on March 10, the show will return to its original 90-minute format.

Over in the Love is Blind universe, Raven revealed on Nick Viall’s podcast that she learned that S.K. had cheated on her at the same time as the rest of us: when that woman posted her TikTok about it in November after S.K. had proposed. For the second time. FOR SHAME, S.K.

Alec Baldwin and Rust armorer have been sued in civil court by the family of Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer who died on set after being shot.

Kate Bedingfield is leaving as White House Communications Director at the end of the month.

Sending good wishes to Senator Fetterman.

Get better soon, Zach Roloff.

Thoughts to the entire Willis family and all of their friends.
