Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

This whole GMA T.J. Holmes/Amy Robach situation has gotten MESSY. Alright — an updated timeline since last we checked in:

After the story broke on Wednesday that he and GMA co-anchor Amy Robach were having an affair (with its own questionable timeline), the two appeared on Friday’s GMA episode. On that episode, Holmes joked that it had been a “great week” and hoped that the week would keep “going and going and going.” Robach responded with a basic, “speak for yourself.”

It was also revealed that Robach went to ABC executives several years ago to dispel rumors that she and Holmes were having an affair then, insisting that the two of them were just “best friends.” ~side eye~

Then came the revelation that Holmes allegedly had a three-year affair with a GMA producer that began back in 2019, and that Holmes had confided in Robach about it. So maybe this was the relationship that ABC executives were concerned about? Unclear.

In any event, it’s no surprise that Holmes and Robach deleted their social media accounts in the wake of this, as past posts are now read in a different light. For instance, on his 10th anniversary with his wife, Holmes posted on Facebook in March 2020 that his wife stayed with him “despite [his] best efforts”:

“That’s not hyperbole. I’m not being dramatic. I gave her plenty of reasons, excuses, and opportunities to walk her fine ass out the doooooooor,” he wrote in the now-viral Facebook upload. “But instead, with her built-in black woman superpower, she showed a grace and patience that’s incomprehensible.”

The Arkansas native continued: “Asking her for another 10 years would be asking too much. Another 10 months? That may even be a stretch. If she gave me another 10 weeks, I should consider myself lucky. If she puts up with me another 10 days, I’d be grateful.”

And in August, Holmes posted on Instagram under “Quote of the Week”:

“End the relationship and cry once. It’s better than being with them and crying daily.”

In the wake of all of this … mess … ABC has benched Holmes and Robach for the foreseeable future until they can figure out what to do (let it blow over).

The Midnight Club was unsurprisingly canceled at Netflix (see below), but that didn’t stop Mike Flanagan from revealing what he had planned for season two:

It looks like “Max” is the frontrunner for the name of the new HBO Max/Discovery+ streaming service.

Peacock has added three million subscribers since last September, which is good news for the streamer. But I’m also not entirely surprised, either. This was the first quarter where Peacock began streaming some NBC content exclusively, like Saturday Night Live.

And according to research firm Park Associates, Prime Video has surpassed Netflix as the most subscribed streaming service.

David Harbour loved the pilot script for Stranger Things but didn’t think anyone else would. Boy, was he wrong.

Speaking of Stranger Things, Dahmer has joined Netflix’s one billion hours viewed club which only includes Squid Game and Stranger Things.

Fox News has dumped Lara Trump as a paid contributor now that her father-in-law is officially running for President for no good goddamned reason.

Actor Neal Bledsoe has distanced himself from The Great American Family network after the whole anti-LGBTQ mess that Candace Cameron Bure opened up.

Not Sally Field out here dishing the DIRT on Burt Reynolds.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Muppet Christmas Carol, Brett Goldstein interviews the Muppets. It’s as delightful as you would expect.

Thomas Lennon found out Quibi was dead while filming a poop scene for Quibi which is as on-the-nose a metaphor as you can get.

For those of you who love a blooper:

Sorry to disappoint you, but Theo James was wearing a prosthetic in THAT White Lotus scene. No word on last night’s newest cast member.

They’ve arrested Takeoff’s killer here in Houston.

Get better soon, Nick Cannon. Your babies need you.

Get well soon, Steven Tyler!

(In case you hadn’t figured it out, I really loved this series. COME ON PEACOCK, DO THE RIGHT THING. It’s a Lorne Michaels production — surely you can find a home for it?)
