Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News
OH COOL ELON IS THREATENING TO BUY MSNBC NOW. coolcoolcoolcool
I just binged all nine episodes of Doctor Odyssey this weekend and you guys really missed a great opportunity for a hate blog with that one. WOW. IT IS REALLY SOMETHING. “Dr. Fuckboat” is what they’re calling it over on Bluesky, and …. that’s not inaccurate? I just have a whole lot of thoughts and mild spoilers:
1. They don’t do operations on cruise ships. That’s not a thing they do on cruise ships, and yet here they are operating on The Odyssey at least once a week, with general anesthesia and CT scans and all kinds of bullshit they most definitely do not have on cruise ships.
2. However, what they definitely do have on cruise ships are morgues. They don’t just shove bodies in the florist’s freezer; people die on cruises all the time.
3. As someone who is married to a lawyer who happens to represent cruise ships in big cases, I can assure you that if a cruise sent a NURSE to amputate someone’s arm they would be sued out of existence.
4. Does Don Johnson have any idea what he’s doing there?
5. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH SHANIA TWAIN’S FACE?
6. The whole love triangle turned … something else, is not shocking to me, this is a Ryan Murphy series after all. What IS shocking to me is that it aired on network television and I downloaded this on my Disney+ app. (And I get it, I understand the synergies at work, but still: it’s A LOT for a family-friendly network.)
7. Why do they keep calling Sea Pacey “Doctor Odyssey”? He has an actual name.
8. Give Gina Gershon all of the Emmys for her wig alone.
9. I don’t know, but if I nearly died from COVID, I’m not sure that I would take a job ON A CRUISE SHIP.
10. Hold up, are they all dead? They better not all be dead. Although it would also be pretty funny if they were all dead. How does one even become pregnant in the afterlife? And if they’re all dead, how are people dying again on the ship? Oh my God, I hope they’re all dead.
IT IS BONKERS, Y’ALL, AND AS GOD IS MY WITNESS, I WILL NEVER MISS ANOTHER EPISODE.
Anyway, I bring this up because of this piece about how the boat that inspired The Love Boat lies sunk at the bottom of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and the actual boat that was used on The Love Boat was turned to scrap in Turkey last year.
Aubrey Plaza is a chaos demon.
“Right Now, TV is the Best Place for Older Actors.” And in other breaking news: water is wet.
