Here’s A BUNCH OF TV News

The documentary, Where is Wendy Williams? is going to debut this weekend on Lifetime, a film that she herself produced, believing it would document her comeback story. Unfortunately, as they were filming in 2022 and 2023, the documentarians themselves realized she was spiraling out of control, and the documentary became … something else. Around this same time in 2022, after losing her talk show due to health issues, her bank Wells Fargo went to the New York courts suggesting that Williams was not of sound mind, and required a legal guardian to help her with her financial situation, and a judge agreed. Williams has been in a conservatorship since and has not been seen since 2023, when she was entered into a medical facility. This week her family gave an interview to People Magazine to dispute the guardianship and reveal that she is suffering from Graves disease, lymphedema, and addiction issues. This morning, her niece appeared in a pre-taped piece on The View to discuss the situation from the family’s perspective. And shortly thereafter, it was announced by Williams’ team that she has been “officially diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia,” a diagnosis that was not discussed on The View, because it had not been announced at the time of the taping. My thoughts go out to Wendy Williams, her family, and everyone who loves her.

Nic Pizzolatto is clearly enjoying all the attention he is receiving by stirring up his fanboys against this recent season of True Detective, and has doubled down on it, claiming that he hasn’t, in fact, spread hate (despite his Instagram stories that did just that).

Sir, no one was calling you a moral degenerate or misogynist simply because you didn’t care for this season; they were calling you a petty, whiny asshole because you just couldn’t keep your trap shut and cash your checks after a woman took your story and made it more popular. I will take solace in the fact that Nic and his fanboys will scream pointlessly into the wind, while the fourth season of this show is the biggest yet, and has just been renewed with López in charge. Again. (See below.)

SPIN SPIN SPIN: Now the story that Kelly Rowland left The Today Show because she was asked questions (2 questions) about Beyoncé is being refuted and we have returned to the original narrative: she was pissed about her dressing room, and mad that Jennifer Lopez was using the large green room. Rowland was given a chance to explain what happened once and for all, but declined. Meanwhile, Hoda continues to insist that there are no hard feelings and Rowland is welcome back anytime. A week is a long time for a story this inconsequential to have legs, so well done? I guess?

We have a bunch of General Hospital news:

The lawsuit brought against the producers over the COVID vaccine requirement will move forward.

The actual mother of the twins who play Ace on GH had her own dramatic health issue (get well soon!)

And Eva LaRue discusses joining the series and working with the legendary Maurice Benard (who also got his start on All My Children).

Over at Days of Our Lives, they paid tribute to Bill Hayes with an emotional and nostalgic episode.
