Speaking of Yellowjackets, which, again, I highly recommend: The Yellowjackets creators are reading your theories about the mystery box series, and apparently one of you is getting it pretty consistently correct. Hmm. (Let’s hope it is not the one involving Shauna and the baby and the eating because … just … not that.)
Here are some pressing questions that Yellowjackets needs to answer in Sunday’s finale, please.
Netflix just jacked up their prices.
That Home Work show that was pulled from the Magnolia channel after its hosts were accused of doing shoddy work will return to the schedule after the hosts agreed to make “the appropriate resolutions” for the unhappy former clients.
Jeopardy! just became the most-watched show that isn’t sports, surpassing 60 Minutes which has held that crown for decades now. Of course, comparing ratings for a series that is syndicated and airs at different times on different networks across the country to regularly broadcast network series isn’t exactly comparing apples to apples.
Happy 70th birthday, Today Show!
Pete Davidson will NOT be hosting the Oscars. It’s weird that I even have to write that sentence out, BUT HERE WE ARE.
According to him, Brian Cox nearly played King Robert Baratheon on Game of Thrones, but it didn’t pay enough. Personally, I don’t see him as Robert as much as I see him as a filthy-mouthed Lord Commander in the Night’s Watch.
Georgia gave out $1.2 billion in tax credits for film and TV projects last year — a full 40% more than in 2019 when it hit its previous record high. Meanwhile, New Jersey is entering the tax break game.
P-Valley is being sued for copyright infringement by a woman who wrote a play set in a strip club.
After weeks of haggling, Alec Baldwin has finally turned over his phone in the Rust investigation.
Please get help, Sinéad O’Connor.
Bob Saget’s funeral was held today in a small service for friends and family.
Today will be the hardest day of my life. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, ⁰courage to change the things I can, ⁰and wisdom to know the difference.
— John Stamos (@JohnStamos) January 14, 2022
John Mayer and Jeff Ross filmed themselves remembering Saget as they picked up his car from LAX.
Finally, America’s Funniest Home Videos will pay tribute to their original host on Sunday’s episode.
Going Viral
Another Friday virus update because it’s still not slowing down out there.
The biggest news is that the Supreme Court has thrown out the Biden Administration’s vaccine or test mandate for companies with more than 100 employees. The vaccine mandate for health care workers at facilities that accept Medicare and Medicaid remains in place.
A group of 270 scientists, professors, doctors, and healthcare workers wrote an open letter to Spotify demanding that they address the disinformation podcaster Joe Rogan spreads on his popular show. Which is great, but it will certainly go unheeded.
Because of a production shutdown thanks to Omicron, Fox has moved the premiere of their new country music drama Monarch to the fall from its original premiere date scheduled for this month. It was set to be Fox’s big midseason series.
Chicago P.D. has also paused production after several positive tests on set.
Made for Love has resumed production after pausing following several positive test results.
Late Night with Seth Meyers will return to the studio next week.
CNN is delaying the return to the office until January 31.
The AFI Awards have been pushed back to March 11.
The Producers Guild Awards have been postponed until March 19.
To Kill a Mockingbird is going to close until June 1.
NO, BOB SAGET DID NOT DIE BECAUSE OF THE VACCINE.
But Glenn Beck DID get COVID twice because he refused to get the vaccine.
MORE RAND PAUL:
2) Sickening is that @RandPaul once told a room full of students that “misinformation works”. And sometimes “I spread it”.
This you @SenRandPaul?
