#MeToo

After the New York Attorney General’s report on Governor Andrew Cuomo came out alleging abuse of at least 11 women, and after giving a comical response and defense that included photos of him hugging his mother, and after criminal complaints were filed against him, and after other criminal probes into his behavior were launched in multiple New York counties, and after the state legislature threatened to impeach him, and after Joe Biden told him to resign, and after the President of Time’s Up resigned when it was discovered she had helped him try to discredit one of his accusers, and after his top aide resigned, and after one of his accusers gave an interview to CBS News in which she said he groped her, and after Bill Fucking O’Reilly came to his defense, and after Ronan Farrow got a hold of him, New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo finally resigned.

I happened to be in New York when he announced his resignation, and I can attest, people were relieved.

As for his brother Chris, according to the AG’s report, he did, in fact, advise his brother, which is why it would be incredibly unethical for him to report or comment on his brother’s story, a point that people can’t seem to get their heads around. After promising to no longer serve as an advisor to Andrew, however, he continued to do so and claimed on his program that he actually advised his brother to resign. Cuomo, for some reason, is losing female viewers in the wake of all this

Tick tock, Matt Gaetz. (Not that Republicans will ever hold him accountable the way Democrats did with Cuomo. Not ever.)

Horatio Sanz has been accused of grooming and assaulting a 17-year-old fan in 2001, and has accused Jimmy Fallon of knowing about it. She is suing Sanz, NBC, and SNL Studios. Sanz denies all of the woman’s claims.

Vincent Kartheiser has been accused of inappropriate behavior on the set of Titans and has been the subject of multiple investigations. Kartheiser denies all allegations.

Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty are being sued by a woman for harassing and intimidating her after she accused Petty of raping her at knifepoint when she was a teenager.

Country singer Clare Dunn claims she was beaten and assaulted by a Lyft driver in Nashville in June.

A second woman, this time in Ohio, has accused L.A. Dodgers Trevor Bauer of punching and choking her during a sexual encounter. He was in court yesterday in the first case, by the way.

Actor Joel Kinnaman has been accused of raping a woman in Sweden. He claims the sex was consensual and he is being extorted.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre has sued Prince Andrew, accusing him of raping her at Jeffrey Epstein’s home when she was underage.

Former model Guzel Ganieva has sued billionaire Leon Black for defamation after claiming he raped and abused her and trafficked her to Jeffrey Epstein.

Bob Dylan has been sued by a woman claiming he sexually abused her when she was 12 years old back in 1965.

Model and Wild Orchid star Carré Sutton has sued Elite Model Management claiming one of its executives, Gerald Marie, raped her repeatedly when she was a minor, and trafficked her to other men.

James Euringer, also known as Jimmy Urine, lead singer of Mindless Self Indulgence, is being sued for grooming and sexually assaulting a woman when she was a minor.

A note: if it seems like there are a lot of lawsuits involving men being accused of raping minors this week, it is because New York State (where all of these lawsuits have been filed) lifted their statute of limitations for child sex abuse cases for a limited period, a period that ended on Saturday, so many of these cases were filed before that window could close.

Mike Richards, Jeopardy‘s new host, was involved in multiple lawsuits during his time at The Price is Right. One woman sued CBS and Freemantle for being discriminated against when she became pregnant and claimed when he found out she was pregnant, he “‘put his head in his hands,’ later barging up to her and saying, ‘Twins? Are you kidding? Are you serious?’”

The same lawsuit stated that “Richards decided that the models’ skirts should be shorter and said that he liked the models to look as if they were going out on a date. At his suggestion, models wore bikinis on the show more frequently.” There was a second lawsuit accusing him of sexual harassment and wrongful termination brought by a second model, which was later settled after he left the show.

Richards’ response? Basically, “I LOVE BABIES.”

The HBO series The White House Plumbers had to halt production after the director, David Mandel, allegedly got into a heated altercation with the prop master and threatened their job. Production resumed a full week later, and both parties are still on the project.

Scott Rudin is no longer a producer of What We Do in the Shadows. Good.

DaBaby has taken back his apology to the LGBT community.

Hey, can someone remind me how cancelling someone works? Does it mean they get to launch a 50-show U.S. tour at Madison Square Garden? Cool. Cool cool cool.

Don’t worry, Johnny Depp, if Louis C.K.’s comeback is any indication, you’ll be making more Disney movies in no time. Also, it’s hard to take your whinging about being blacklisted by Hollywood when you’re literally being feted by film festivals, you big baby.

Lisa Joy, one of the co-creators of Westworld and the screenwriter for the upcoming film  Reminiscence, considered writing the script under a male pseudonym because of the sexism in the industry. She added: “Oftentimes [studios] would give me these ‘compliments’ that were basically like, ‘It’s so unique for a woman to be able to write a man,’ and I’d be like, ‘Why?” Joy said in the interview. “Is it so hard for a woman to imagine those lofty heights of intelligence and depth?”

LOL, “manly Muppets.”

Updates on the whole Britney Spears saga: Jamie Spears has agreed to step down as her conservator, FINALLY. On his way out, Jamie accused the other conservator of wanting to put Britney in a 5150 hold after her damning testimony last month. (She’s all, “NUH-UH” about that, btw.) He’s not removed just yet, and probably won’t be until the end of next month, but now Britney can focus on avocado toast.
