They’re making a third ‘Walking Dead’ series whether you like it or not.

A third Walking Dead series has been ordered by AMC and will debut in 2020. The series will focus on two young female leads whose characters have grown up in the apocalypse and it’s the only world they know. (I have some thoughts about this but I think I’m going to save them for the next TWD recap I’m about to write.) I’m not sure that we need another Walking Dead series, and I wonder what this means for the future of the original series, but it’s not like they didn’t warn us that this was coming.

And speaking of The Walking Dead spinoffs, there is some speculation that Fear the Walking Dead could intersect with Rick’s story somewhere along the line.

Meanwhile, the best thing that has happened to the show in recent years, showrunner Angela Kang, promises more “stuff [they’ve] never done,” more information about that voice on the radio, and another time jump in the next season.

And here’s a nice explainer of where The Walking Dead universe stands as of now. Yes, there is a whole universe.

The Game of Thrones cast is warning us against getting our hopes up for happy endings again. Jacob Anderson, who plays Grey Worm, warns that fans are going to be “conflicted” about his character’s journey,ย Jerome Flynn, Bronn, basically said the same thing about his character, Richard Dormer, who plays Beric, essentially confirmed his character is going to die (No duh.) and Emilia Clarke acknowledges that some people are going to be disappointed in the finale, but she’s cool with it.

This is a very interesting and clearly heartfelt piece about why Rebecca deserved more in the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend series finale, and comparing it to how You’re the Worst ended (and I don’t know why I hadn’t considered comparing those two shows before — I feel like an idiot for not seeing the similarities in retrospect). If you watched both shows you should give it a read. That said, I ultimately disagree with the author and think that the ending of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was always what the show was building up to — from the very first episode, in fact — and just because the author had success dealing with her own mental health issues while also maintaining a romantic relationship doesn’t mean that it’s the path for everyone. I hope that was not too spoilery. Apologies if I just ruined everything.

The show that Jodie Whitaker left so as to be the Doctor will make a few nods to Doctor Who in its upcoming season.

Coronation Street, a soap that has been airing on BBC since 1960, is adding its first black family. It’s ridiculous that it took them longer to introduce black characters than the royal family BUT WHATEVER.

Netflix is dropping support for Apple’s AirPlay in their on-going fight with Apple ahead of the company’s streaming service AppleTV+ debuting. I don’t really know what this means but as long as Netflix still plays on my Apple TV, I guess I don’t really care?

The WGA has extended talks with their agents, so no one is getting fired. Yet.

Fox is starting to offer advertisers “fast breaks” — ad breaks so short viewers won’t be able to skip over them — which is just very clever. I’ve been noticing (on NBC, I think) an announcement that “Show will be back in 60 seconds” and you are less inclined to fast forward over the commercial. This is the future of broadcast TV folks.

Billie Eilish is obsessed with The Office. (If you don’t know who Billie Eilish is, that’s OK, I didn’t know who she was five minutes ago, it just means we’re old.) (Also, I’m glad I read this because I was thinking that my 17-year-old was the only one completely obsessed with The Office.)

Seven women who have accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault and defamation have settled their claims — but Cosby isn’t paying them. Instead, his insurance company A.I.G. is settling the cases. This asshole is still planning on going forward with his countersuits against the women because he’s awful. (My lawyer-in-residence tells me that continuing his countersuits might be a dangerous play, however, and get his ass sanctioned for being frivolous. Let’s hope.)

Michael Jackson’s family is releasing a documentary of their own refuting the charges in Leaving Neverland. That should do the trick.

Juliana Margulies will not be appearing on The Good Fight because CBS refused to pay her what they paid her for The Good Wife. Good for her.
