Hey, dummies: masculinity and toxic masculinity are not the same thing.

Gillette released a new ad and it is making some people SO MAD. I guess because it calls out sexual harassment and bullying and asserts that toxic masculinity is the root cause of both:

Yes, somehow people are mad about this ad that asks men to be good people, and call it an attack on masculinity itself. Look at these fucking idiots:

Look, if you associate masculinity with violence and sexual harassment, not only are you the problem but you also grossly underestimate men. Taking this position is to insist that men are incapable of respect or controlling their behavior, and that is just sad. That is just a sad mindset that thinks so little of men. Men who are empathetic and kind are not less manly than men who are violent or dominant, they’re just better at being human beings.

Terry Crews (who is featured in the ad), he continues to get it. He’s my favorite.

Family Guy is going to “phase out” jokes about gay people. I guess it’s a start.

Update on the R. Kelly situation: Celine Dion and The Pussycat Dolls have pulled their songs with him from streaming services. One of his accusers from Surviving R. Kelly is meeting with the NYPD.

One of Harvey Weinstein’s lawyers is ditching him ahead of his rape trial.

John Lasseter gave an emotional apology, addressed female employees and promised to tell women’s stories on the screen at a Skydance town hall. Meanwhile, the head of Women in Animation wrote an open letter expressing her anger at his hire and urging studios to hire more women.
