There’s still time to ruin my entire fall, you jerks

The Emmys were last night, which I will (eventually) get to in a separate post. In the meantime, vote for whichever unlikely-to-win-Emmys show you want me to hate blog this fall. Manifest still has a healthy lead, but A Million Little Things has suddenly made a strong showing and pulled into third place. There’s still plenty of time to really ruin my day autumn.

Roseanne Conner will die of an opioid overdose, according to Roseanne Barr. She’s not happy about it but who cares.

Meanwhile, Roseanne’s ex-husband has filed battery charges against Mark Burnett for “choking” him at the pre-Emmy party Sunday night after he confronted Burnett about the missing Apprentice Trump tapes. We live in the weirdest times. (Related: you know who has a hard job these days? The LAPD.)

But times are good for Rachel Maddow.

ANDERSON COOPER HAS HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR BULLSHIT, DUMMY JR.

Game of Thrones is taking so long to come back because, according to Benioff, “it’s the biggest thing we’ve ever done.”

Meanwhile, George R.R. Martin is still bitching about how the show should have gone longer. HEY GO WRITE THE BOOKS, GEORGE.

Gwendoline Christie cried for two hours after taking off Brienne’s armor for the last time. Girl, just the IDEA of that is making me all verklempt.

Veep’s final season is only going to be 7 episodes long, BOOOOOOOO.

Shady, Kristin Davis.

Marie Avgeropoulos of The 100 has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. Tsk.

This is not TV related, but I needed you to know I WAS THERE FOR IT.

Time’s Up

Julie Chen is leaving The Talknews that broke during the Emmys, go figure. I assume she’ll finish hosting Big Brother this season — which ends next week, I believe — and she’ll be completely gone from CBS. Bye, Mrs. Moonves.

A woman might be taking over as head of CBS News. GOOD. NOW MAKE A WOMAN THE HEAD OF CBS, TOO.

Bryan Singer thinks it’s time for him to come back. No, bitch, no.

An 11th case against Harvey Weinstein has been opened in the U.K.

After a bunch of fuckery in which the Republicans tried their hardest to stick their fingers in their ears, shut their eyes and LALALALALALA I CAN’T HEAR YOU their way out of the Brett Kavanaugh mess, the Judiciary Committee has agreed to reopen the hearings and take testimony from Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford under oath. The hearing will happen on Monday.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who attended the same school as Kavanaugh’s accuser, signed a letter along with 200 of her fellow alumnae in support of Dr. Ford.

Meanwhile, The Drudge Report tried to smear Dr. Ford, failed.

(But also, even if they had the right Dr. Christine Ford, how does some of your students not liking you have any bearing whatsoever on whether or not someone attempted to rape you when you were 15?)

  1. Honestly a little surprised Melissa Villaseñor was promoted from featured. I thought they were going to let her go based on how little they used her last season. I like her a lot and I really hope they can figure out a way to use her talents this year.

    1. Did you watch “Crashing” on HBO? I am meh about Villaseñor, but she won me over as herself on that series, by arguing that not everyone is going to like her brand of comedy and that’s OK.
