Tom Arnold and Mark Burnett got into some kind of fight over the Trump tapes this weekend … and no one managed to tape it.

Before we get to it, the poll on my hate-watch closes in less than a week. Have you voted? Have you voted a bunch? Why not vote again?

Tom Arnold and Mark Burnett were involved in some sort of scuffle last night at a pre-Emmy party. It’s unclear exactly what happened, but it sounds like Arnold and Burnett arrived roughly at the same time and shoving ensued.

Some background details if you haven’t been paying attention because why should you? Mark Burnett is the producer of The Apprentice, and Arnold, a one-time contestant on Celebrity Apprentice, has been pressuring Burnett to release the legendary Trump tapes featuring President Grab ‘Em by the Pussy using the N-word and other racial slurs and talking about women in less than pleasant ways. Arnold is, in fact, the host of an upcoming Viceland show, The Hunt for the Trump Tapes with Tom Arnold, which debuts next week (so do keep that in mind).

But the most intriguing part of this entire story is that in the aftermath of the fight, Arnold was going around telling people that he has turned over the Trump tapes to Ronan Farrow — the center of ALL of the stories in this post — just this weekend.

The Weather Channel defended this nonsese with “concrete.” LOL OK.

Meanwhile, WCTI in North Carolina had to evacuate as the station flooded. (KHOU knows a little something about that here in Houston.)

Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser revealed her identity in a Washginton Post piece this weekend, and her account of what happened is pretty credible. I will be coming back to this once we know what the Senate is going to do about his confirmation — continue with the vote on Thursday, or investigate the allegation further and allow his accuser to testify before the Judiciary Committee. The bottom line is there is no reason why the same Senate who left a Supreme Court spot empty for nearly a year because it was “an election year,” should rush through a Supreme Court nomination of a man accused of attempted rape some 50+ days ahead of an election.

Soon-Yi Previn spoke out at length for the first time about her relationship with Woody Allen.

“I was never interested in writing a Mommie Dearest, getting even with Mia — none of that,” Soon-Yi tells me quietly but firmly. “But what’s happened to Woody is so upsetting, so unjust. [Mia] has taken advantage of the #MeToo movement and paraded Dylan as a victim. And a whole new generation is hearing about it when they shouldn’t.”

Most of the piece is about her childhood as Mia Farrow’s daughter, which she describes as being abusive, and has very little to do with the Dylan Farrow allegations, even though that is ostensibly why she is giving the interview.

The author of the piece, Daphne Merkin, acknowledges early in the piece that she is a friend and admirer of Woody Allen. Additionally, she wrote a New York Times op-ed back in January complaining that the #MeToo movement has gone too far. Here a very nuanced and sensitive piece about why this is problematic.
