Renewals
- Get your leotard cleaned: The best new show of the year, GLOW, has been renewed for a second season at Netflix.
- My summer guilty pleasure (well, one of them), Love Connection has been renewed by Fox.
- USA renewed Queen of the South for a third season.
In Development
- Seth Meyers and Jill Kargman (Odd Mom Out) are trying to reboot The Munsters. It will be set in hipster Brooklyn this time around.
- Jenji Kohan’s series American Princess, has been picked up by Lifetime. Between this and GLOW’s renewal, it was a good day to be Jenji Kohan!
- American Crime Story: Katrina is being completely reimagined, apparently. It will now focus on the events that took place at Memorial Medical Center, when hospital staff were forced to make decisions as to which patients could be saved.
- HBO has ordered four specials based on Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson’s podcast, 2 Dope Queens.
- HBO also is developing a comedy about sneaker culture from LeBron James’ production company.
- Comedy Central is developing the comedy Kill the Orange Face Bear, about a man who sets out to get revenge on the bear that ate his girlfriend in front of him.
- The creator of Nashville is working on a new music drama, this one set in Miami.
- Buzzfeed is launching a morning show on Twitter. I am very old.
- The Walking Dead‘s Robert Kirkman has signed a deal with Amazon.
