In which I have an imaginary argument with the Trump voters in this CNN clip:
- First of all, lady, voting is NOT a privilege, it’s A FUCKING RIGHT. LET’S JUST ESTABLISH THAT BEFORE WE GO ANY FURTHER.
- I don’t understand the part where you believe that 3 million “illegals” voted because it was “reported in the media” including CNN — according to you, but then when the lady from CNN says, “No, not CNN,” you say, “if CNN didn’t do it, they were being smart this time.” Does that mean you think they were smart for not reporting the thing that you seem to so firmly believe? I get that your point is that you believe CNN is usually bad at reporting facts, but if you’re saying that CNN was smart to not report the nonsense that you believe, where does that leave you, exactly?
- If nobody knows what number of “illegals” voted in California, then why do you believe 3 million “illegals” voted in California? Why do you believe ANY “illegals” voted in California?
- Do you actually believe, honestly believe, truly in your heart of hearts believe that the President of the United States would publicly declare that non-citizens should vote in an election? That the President of the United States would actively encourage people to break federal election laws? And, a follow-up to that, do you then believe that if The President of the United States did something that fucking outrageous and illegal, that the media and most American citizens would just shrug and be like, “Yep, we’re totally cool with that. We don’t see any problem here” and that it wouldn’t be THE BIGGEST STORY ON THE NEWS EVERYWHERE ALL OF THE TIME? I WANT YOU TO FUCKING STOP AND THINK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. TRY IT. DO IT. REPORT BACK.
- And you, Lady on the back row, nodding your head and saying, “Google it,” how about YOU Google it, because if you DID Google it, the very first thing you would find would be this link on Mediaite.com explaining that THIS DID NOT HAPPEN and, in fact, was a rumor that was only reported one time on Fox Business News because it was based on a piece of EDITED VIDEO, a fact that would have taken the Fox Business News assholes all of thirty seconds to fact check if they actually wanted to do their jobs and not put out a bunch of spurious nonsense that you idiots would gobble up and hold close to your hearts because it confirms what you want to believe both about the President and brown people in general. BECAUSE OF COURSE IT’S NOT TRUE. BECAUSE OF COURSE THAT DIDN’T FUCKING HAPPEN. FUCK.
- ALSO, “FACEBOOK” IS NOT MEDIA. IT IS NOT MEDIA. IT IS NOT MEDIA. IT.IS.NOT.MEDIA.
- And no, NO! California does not “allow” non-citizens to vote. That is not a thing!
- But guess what? I actually agree with you on your final point: voting manipulation happens in this country, just not the way you think it does. The vote is rigged in several states, in that they suppress the vote, they have prevented citizens from exercising their right to vote in overtly malicious ways. Check it out here and THEN GET BACK TO ME.
- I don’t even know why I am screaming at you. You’re so entrenched in your beliefs that you are never going to hear me. You are never going actually trust real journalism — or even seek it out — because it won’t confirm what you want to hear. Instead, you’re going to keep turning to lies posted on your friends’ Facebook feeds because those stories, the ones about non-citizens being actively encouraged to vote by the President of the United States, those stories make your deep-rooted racism feel like something else, something good, something justified and not just a festering cyst of irrational hate.

Megyn Kelly might be considering an offer from CNN, so good luck with that, Megyn!
Here’s your first look at Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale starring Elisabeth Moss and Joseph Fiennes and which is looking PRETTY FUCKING RELEVANT RIGHT ABOUT NOW.
My feelings exactly:
Gilmore Girls did pretty well for Netflix, which is no surprise if you are on any social media at all. So will there be more? Amy Sherman-Palladino isn’t ruling it out.
Here be mild Game of Thrones spoilers.
Live with Kelly! is bringing that one guy who won the contest back AGAIN to co-host for three days, and OMG PLEASE DO NOT GIVE HIM THIS JOB. I DON’T WANT TO LOOK AT HIS FACE ANYMORE. NO. MAKE ANDERSON COOPER DO IT, I DON’T CARE ABOUT HIS DUMB CNN CONTRACT.
The creator of Full House bought the house that Full House took place in. The snake eats its own tail.
Poor HGTV had to make a statement promising that they are for real not discriminatory towards teh gheys, really, they promise they love teh gheys. Meanwhile, the reporter who first told the story that the Gaines belong to a bigoted church is being attacked for being “bigoted” and “intolerant” herself. This world, man.
When Arnold Schwarzenegger takes over The Celebrity Apprentice, he’ll get an assist from 6 advisors, including Leeza Gibbons, because of course Leeza Gibbons. Why not Leeza Gibbons.
Good Girls Revolt is not going to revolt for a second season on Amazon.
The Liberal Redneck is maybe getting his own comedy on Fox, y’all.
In other development news:
- Mayans MC, the Sons of Anarchy spinoff, received a pilot order from FX in the least surprising news of the entire day.
- ABC bought Holy Sh*t, a workplace comedy that takes place in a church.
- The CW bought Real Love, a romantic dramedy about a computer programmer who writes code for the perfect boyfriend and then fall in love with him when he becomes self-aware. So, Westworld.
- Netflix has bought Call Me Francis, a miniseries about Pope Francis.
Regina King, who is one of the best God damn actresses on TV, if not THE best, is going to star in Seven Seconds, a Netflix series about racial tensions.
In other casting news:
- Scott Foley is going to play Dr. McDonald in a remake of Fatal Vision.
- Carrie Preston, Guillermo Diaz and Robert Knepper are going to star in Dating Game Killer, a made-for-tv movie for Investigation Discovery.
R.I.P. Milt Moss, that guy from the“I can’t believe I ate that whole thing” Alka-Seltzer commercials.
R.I.P. Andrew Sachs, Manuel from Fawlty Towers. Sigh.
